PRP Hair Restoration

SERVING BEVERLY HILLS AND LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

PRP Hair Restoration is a non-surgical procedure that can help with concerns such as

  • Thinning hair
  • Excessive shedding
  • Receding hairline
  • The early stages of balding

Results from our PRP hair restoration require some patience, as the regeneration is occurring within the follicles, with early signs of new hair at about four to six weeks. Though noticeable results occur after the first treatment, you may need three treatments for optimal hair regrowth. Continued maintenance treatments may be advised every six months.

How is PRP Hair Restoration Different from Other Procedures?

The only other hair restoration procedure is hair transplantation via methods like punch-grafting, micro-grafting, or slit-grafting. This is a surgical procedure that removes hair-bearing skin from the back of the scalp and creates grafts to attach to the balding areas. It requires local anesthetic and takes anywhere from four to eight hours with a recovery time of a few days. Other options for hair loss are medications such as Rogaine and Propecia. Rogaine is only 10 to 14% effective and Propecia must be continuously taken to maintain results.

PRP Hair Restoration is non-surgical and does not require any anesthesia. The procedure only takes about one hour, and recovery time is minimal. Most patients can continue with their day after their PRP treatment. Our PRP hair restoration is also often paired with stem cell treatment which also works to thicken, strengthen and regrow hair.

While hair transplant surgeries can cost anywhere from $6,000 to over $20,000, PRP costs several hundred per treatment, with most patients needing three treatments to see full results.

Am I a Candidate for PRP Hair Restoration?

PRP Hair Restoration is a great option for many patients suffering from hair loss. The best candidates for PRP hair restoration are those who have lost their hair in the last several years as regrowth occurs more easily in those cases. Results can still be achieved in longer cases but it is best to schedule a consultation with Dr. Berger to determine if our PRP hair restoration if your best option.

Certain people may not be great candidates for PRP hair restoration therapy such as those with thyroid issues or lupus, as these underlying issues will continue to cause hair loss over time. Patients who are on blood thinners will not achieve the best results as their platelets work less effectively. Please reach out to our office to schedule a consultation to learn more and see if you are a candidate for PRP hair restoration therapy.

What is the Cost of PRP Hair Restoration?

As with most procedures, the cost of PRP Hair Restoration varies dependent on each case. Expect each treatment to cost several hundred dollars with the understanding it may take three sessions to reach the desired result. A private consultation will allow us to evaluate your current hair condition and advise you of the number of PRP treatments we recommend.

How Long Will It Take to Recover from PRP Hair Restoration?

There is very little recovery time needed after our PRP hair restoration. Most patients continue with their day as usual after the procedure. There is very little risk of any side effects, but you may experience redness, minor swelling, or pinprick bleeding at the injection sites.
