When you look in your mirror, do you see droops, sags, and bags that make you wonder if you need a facelift? Facelifts are in the news, most notably Renee Zellweger’s, who claims not to have had one but, in my opinion, had a great deal more than a little Botox® to make such substantial changes to her face that she no longer looks anything like her previous self! The problem with surgical facelifts is that patients often look different but not necessarily younger. Here are Rejuvalife Vitality Institute, we have tactics to help you stall facial aging in a manner that avoids surgery, general anesthesia, scars, prolonged recovery time and, yes, you’ll still look like “you”–just younger!
First, reference our article about Turkey Neck, as every one of those treatments can be utilized to lift and tighten the face without pain, surgery, general anesthesia, prolonged recovery time or visible scars. Next, let’s review the Liquid Facelift and Silhouette Lift, two additional “weapons” in our anti-aging arsenal at Rejuvalife Vitality Institute that will turn back the clock to uncover your most youthful self!
A Liquid Facelift is performed completely with Botox® and fillers, such as Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Sculptra®, Voluma® and/or Restylane®. There is no surgery, prolonged downtime, anesthesia (other than topical anesthetic cream). Results last up to two years depending upon the fillers selected.
After application of an anesthetic cream to numb the face, Dr. Berger injects natural fillers to lift and contour the face in much the same way as a surgical facelift, without surgery. The soft tissues beneath the face are lifted for a more youthful appearance. Further, collagen production will be boosted, adding to the improved contours and skin texture over time.
The Liquid Facelift, performed in our Beverly Hills office, talks approximately 40-minutes and results are visible immediately.
While most Liquid Face Lift patients can return to their activities immediately afterwards, some find it more comfortable to go home to relax. There is some minor swelling and possibly bruising at the injection sites, and we advise all patients to remain vertical for at least four hours after Botox® injections.
A Silhouette lift is an excellent treatment for wrinkling and sagging in the mid and lower face and neck. Like a traditional surgical facelift, the facial volume is redistributed but the Silhouette Lift does not require general anesthesia or a prolonged recovery time. It can also be performed as a “touch up” procedure for those who have previously had a surgical facelift.
An anesthetic cream is first applied, followed by injections of a liquid anesthetic to numb the treated areas. Once the local anesthetic has taken effect, tiny “threads” are inserted to lift and skin and tissues for a more youthful appearance.
We advise our Beverly Hills Silhouette Lift patients to limit facial movement for 2-3 weeks following their procedure. Other normal activities can be resumed immediately, so long as you avoid strenuous exercise that increases blood flow to the face, such as running, lifting weights or aerobics. You’ll be able to resume all activities within a week. There are no extensive scars, bruises, swelling, headwrap or requirement to sleep in a sitting position following the Silhouette Lift, which are normally required with a traditional, surgical, facelift.
