Breast Reconstruction: Helping Women Find Confidence After Cancer

angelina-jolieDo you like your breasts? Large or small, lopsided or perfectly perky, every breast is different. One thing they all share though is the potential to someday get breast cancer. Breast cancer is a devastating diagnosis, one we wouldn’t wish on anybody, but the good news is that many women become survivors. They fight the cancer and win, becoming stronger in the process.

There is life after cancer, but the breasts you once knew and loved will be a little different. Breast reconstruction can often help breast cancer survivors to feel good about their bodies again, to take control of their looks and to restore self-esteem and confidence.

Breast reconstruction isn’t just for cancer survivors. Some carriers of the BRCA gene choose to undergo preventative breast removal to reduce their chances for getting cancer (Angelina Jolie is a good example).

This year’s BRA day was an exciting way for women to explore their options for breast reconstruction. It featured a panel of distinguished doctors, cancer survivors and even the BRCA blogger Rachel Horn from Ticking Time Bombs. Rachel’s blog focuses on one woman’s journey after discovering she had the BRCA-2 gene. This 21 year old chose to undergo a double mastectomy to take control of her body again; she wanted to be in control and love her body and the surgery gave her this option.

Being able to love yourself, inside and outside, plays an important role in creating confidence. Breast reconstruction can help some women to love themselves again and to restore that which cancer has taken away. It’s about having options, being able to choose and creating your most beautiful self. Here at Rejuvalife Vitality Center we want to help women feel great about themselves, cancer survivors or not.

While we offer natural breast augmentation and other options for breast reconstruction, we also have a host of other treatment options for those wanting to feel more confident and beautiful. From injectable fillers to liposuction or laser skin treatments, choose how you want to look and make it happen. For some breast cancer survivors this means breast reconstruction, for others it means embracing a new shape. It really comes down to finding the way you feel best and learning to love yourself. We’d be honored to help you in your journey; contact us today.
