Did you know that by the age of 35, around 10% of the fat in your face has been lost? This is why many men and women, right around their mid-30s, begin to notice more visible signs of aging such as wrinkles and creases. As the aging process continues, so too does this loss of volume, resulting in around 40% lost by age 55.
Fat grafting for facelift is a safe and effective way to address volume lost through the aging process. Beverly Hills facial rejuvenation cosmetic surgeon Dr. Andre Berger has developed a process that combines fat harvested from your own body enriched with PRP and stem cells for optimal results. This combination is injected using micro-droplets, also known as the nano-fat grafting technique, to fill the targeted areas of your face little by little. By using this technique, Dr. Berger can ensure natural-looking results that can last for several years. It should be noted that more than one treatment may be necessary for optimal effect. Dr. Berger will discuss how many treatments you will need during your facial fat grafting consultation.
Recovery from Fat Grafting Facelift
The face is like an upside-down pyramid, making the facial fat grafting process best when done from the top down. This allows Dr. Berger to create a lifting effect that appears natural and not “overly done” or surgical.
Local anesthetic is used for facial fat grafting, but general anesthesia is entirely unnecessary. Because deep sedation is not needed, the risks and complications associated with IV sedation are eliminated. In addition, risks that can accompany surgical treatments are also eliminated, and even bruising and swelling are minimal and short-lived. In most cases, one week is all it takes for these common side-effects to completely subside.
While this procedure is safe and comes with a very short recovery period, it is not right for everyone. Smokers and people with chronic illnesses or certain autoimmune conditions are typically not good candidates for facial fat grafting. Your candidacy for nonsurgical facelift is something best determined by a qualified physician like Dr. Berger during a one-on-one consultation.
