The History of Radiesse Approvals
Radiesse was first approved in 2001 to treat lines and wrinkles around the mouth and chin. In 2006, Radiesse was approved to treat smile lines and nasolabial folds, as well as pre-jowl folds in the lower cheeks.
Radiesse has been used for hand-rejuvenation in several countries for at least 10 years, but is only now available for such use in the United States. This most recent approval follows a randomized controlled study and review of clinical research from areas where Radiesse has been used for had rejuvenation for quite some time. Radiesse is the first injectable filler approved for skin rejuvenation in the hands in the United States.
