Difference Between SmartLipo™ and Traditional Liposuction in Beverly HillsSERVING BEVERLY HILLS AND LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
There are many different types of liposuction. This can make it confusing for potential patients to fully understand which option is best for their needs. As a pioneer in field of body sculpting, Los Angeles liposuction surgeon, Dr. Andre Berger is uniquely equipped to help patients choose the most effective techniques for the elimination of fat in specific problem areas.
During your initial consultation at our accredited Beverly Hills surgical center Dr. Berger will carefully assess your frame, discuss our advanced liposuction options, and help you choose which one that is ideal for your needs.
SmartLipo™ vs. Traditional Liposuction
Traditional liposuction can help slim and tone larger areas of the body such as the flanks, abdomen, and thighs. Using negative pressure suction and hollow aspiration cannulas, traditional liposuction mechanically aspirates stubborn fat deposits located between the skin and the muscles. One type of traditional liposuction surgery that Dr. Berger utilizes is tumescent liposuction, which breaks up fatty deposits prior to removal. This helps reduce trauma while ensuring maximum fat removal.
SmartLipo uses laser energy to emulsify targeted deposits of fat. Once melted, this fat is immediately removed with aspiration cannulas similar to those used in traditional liposuction procedures. However, SmartLipo is much less invasive than many other techniques, making it better suited for delicate treatment areas such as the face, chin, and neck. These areas can further benefit from SmartLipo due to the skin tightening that this laser assisted treatment encourages.
